1. Open portrait image into photoshop.
2. Convert to black and white image.
3. Add a layer of multiply to the image. (You need to chance from "normal" to "multiply")
4. Paint on the layer.
5. Merge down the layer.
6. Select the whole image and copy it.
7. Open a new file and double the width and the height (Because this new canvas will contain 4 copies of the portraits).
8. Paste the image to the new canvas and drag it into position. Press and hold "Alt" and drag from the first copy to fill in the other three positions.
9. Adjust hue value for three of the copies. (The most interesting and the last step)
Why don't we paint directly over the black and white image?
Why do three colors change independently to each other when we slide the bar for "Hue"?
